My younger sister eloped but then again she had just turned 18. Yes, she ended up getting a divorce. I don’t think that is the outcome for everyone that elopes.

Statistically yes but those that don’t had a strong solid reason to elope as opposed to going the traditional route. There are going to be some exceptions to this in the world but overall the more things you place in the way of an approved strongly built relationship the more things there are that will try to poke holes in it. Good luck if you decide to take this route.

I can only tell you about my family. Generally speaking, on both sides of my family, the ones that elope stay together the long haul. The ones that have the full gala bash wedding usually get divorced. Of course there are exceptions, but they are the few.

Brothers huge lavish expensive wedding- Divorced
Brothers 2nd marriage-Eloped in Disney- Divorced again
Parents Eloped-Court, small party- Married 30 yrs now
Aunt eloped on cruise-Married 17 yrs now
Friends Huge expensive wedding- Divorced after 8 months
It all depends on the couple i guess, I personally want to get eloped and take a lavish vacation instead!
