In the last 30 plus years, there are more single wage earners in homes due to the following, and more people less capable of earning a higher wage.
1. more single mothers.
2. More divorce.
3. More singles not marrying.
4. more high school dropouts.
5. More drug abuse.
6. More people who dont speak English.
These arent govt policies, they are societal values.
Point well taken R.T. , thank you sir.

That and soaring unemployment….
These are 6 things that happen when a nation turns against Jesus Christ.
partly true
unemployment and underemployment have a big hand in this as well
plus under-education.
How much of these social values are due to government policies.
We used to teach morals in schools, not moral relativism. That addresses most of the things on your list. Number 6 relates directly to the current illegal immigration issues.
Lower income averages also relate to job losses and the poor state of our educational system. Abolish the Department of Education and go back to local school boards that can be held accountable.
ABSOLUTELY! Social factors such as these have increased poverty.
No. Reaganomics happened. which directed all the wealth to the top
union busting happened which drove down US wages to be more like third world competetors
tariffs removed by Reagan, so our workers have to compete with third world countries
this is why wages have gone down..but apparantly not far enough since republicans are running on a platform of removing the minimum wage
The largest contribution to decreasing household purchasing power is inflation fueled by government borrowing.
1. They’re called prostitutes, another word for liberals.
2. It’s called life.
3. Some people like to bang and bail.
4. You can’t drop out of high school anymore, thanks to G.W. Bush.
5. Instead of a war on poverty, there’s a war on drugs so the police can bother me.
6. Silly liberals let the illegals in.
These ARE government policies, well some of them. Silly liberals.
Those are 6 of the main reasons.
The problem is that wages have been stagnant. That has nothing to do with societal values. Also, many households now have two working parents. Don’t you find it odd that a two earner family today has the same income level as a single head of household had 20 years ago?
Companies are no longer giving raises to adjust for inflation. A person entering a secretarial job 20 years ago got about $10.00 an hour and could expect an annual raise to adjust for inflation.
A person entering a secretarial job today will get about $10.00 an hour. And chances that will not increase much over time.
That is
what about the other side of this…
30 years ago, a guy could walk out of high school into a job that would allow him to buy a house, a car, have two, three kids, a wife who didnt work, health insurance, and be entitled to a lifelong pension
I believe you are spot on with high unemployment and lack of moral fortitude.
